I thought I was going to die...

Last night I thought I was going to die. It was 3 am when I heard someone take steps toward my door. I froze. I thought the worst. I had just read the the murder part in Crime and Punishment, and the day before I had read about missionaries being killed. My mind raced:no one lives in ear shot of my apartment, my windows are open. The border is less than a mile away from my house. Desperate means sometimes will lead to desperate measures. I didn't want to turn on the lights because I didn't want him/her to think anyone was there. I reached around for my phone. No where. I slowly slithered out of bed on to my knees and prayed. I prayed for anyone who at that moment was thinking of hurting anyone. I prayed for all the people that came into my mind that don't know Jesus. I prayed for Darfur, the people I met during my mission trip and throughout my trip through Europe, the kids I work with, the church starting in Mexico and the Harvard-Radcliffe Christian Fellowship. I also wrote small note. A peace came over me and went back to bed. In the morning I woke up, thinking I had a bad nightmare/dream. But I found this scribbled note:
Jesus loves you. Please believe in Him. Believe everything He says (in context). Following Him brings the best life. Accepting Christ into your life also saves you from eternal torment.
Philippians 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.)
Galatians 5:6 (The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.)

Up, Up, and away

Wow, what an awesome day! When I signed up a couple of the kids I work with for an Young Eagles plane ride I thought it would be like a ride in a crop duster. I thought it would be neat for the kids to be able to get on a plane and see things from the sky. I thought if I got to go for a ride it would be a nice view. Oh, no. It was more than that. It was like a roller coaster with no rails. Nose dives galore. I was laughing and/or screaming as we went up and down. It was also neat to be able to read the kids this verse. But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 So true... Saul, Zugheit, Carlos had a lot of fun, definitely and day to remember. Our meal at Del Taco was pretty fun, too.

Carlos, Saul, and Zugheit (left to right) ready to go.

And we are off.

Paul telling Zugheit the ins and outs of piloting.

I love these guys!
